Reducing Water Use: Papermaking is dependent on water. My suppliers use water from their own bore well and rainwater. The water is used twice in the paper making process, then the final run off (which is pH neutral and free of any harmful chemicals like chlorine) is used on their organic farm!

Other Sustainable Stationery Options
Where we don’t use cotton paper at Olivia James Stationery, we only use FSC approved paper. FSC certification confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves, biological diversity and benefits, the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustain economic viability. My papers are 100% biodegradable and recyclable in normal household recycling. I try to use as little plastic as possible and I do not create any stationery out of plastic eg acrylic or vinyl.
Packaging
Like my papers, I source my packaging carefully from a carbon neutral company. I use recyclable materials in my packaging or I re-use plastic packaging that I have received in previous deliveries.
